From the President's Desk

Dear  friends,

Kindly allow me the privilege of introducing you to Scott Ingram, a name you’ll probably be hearing a lot as time goes on.

From Truck Driver to Full-Time Missionary

A. Scott Ingram

Scott is HGIM’s Minister of Evangelism. I’ve worked side-by-side with Scott the last two summers during the Heart of God East Africa mission outreaches to Uganda. He’s proven himself to be a young man of integrity, dedicated and passionate about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, preaching the truth with power and authority.

Scott comes to us with an excellent experience record, especially for his age. You can learn more about him on his website (www.anthonyingram.com). HGIM is blessed to include him in our staff of volunteers. But, just to clear up any confusion, Scott is an unpaid staff member but he WILL be working hard to build support to provide his living and ministry expenses associated with his role as a full-time HGIM missionary … more about that later.

The Journey Begins

As of December 23rd Scott will leave his day job to become the first full-time HGIM missionary, leading us into yet another level of ministry as we work in response to the Great Commission given to all believers by the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. After working hard to pay off his student loans and get his finances in order (very commendable!), Scott will be turning in his keys to the 18-wheeler he’s been driving in exchange for his passport and a ticket to Haiti where he will join the staff at Victory Center in Kenscoff for the first 5-6 months of 2012.

During his assignment to Haiti, Scott will be working closely with David Young, Executive Director of  Heart of God Haiti. Being on the ground in Haiti will afford him opportunities to develop a church plant while assuming administrative duties as an advisor at the orphanage, training the staff to be “more effective” in their mission, teaching them how to set goals and priorities, and then see them through. Scott will also be working with the Haitian government and other NGO’s to ensure the well-being of the children, setting up the sponsorship program and working to gain the legal ability to grant adoptions.

On the Road Again

Not quite the same way as when he was driving an 18-wheeler, but Scott will be on the road when his assignment in Haiti is completed. Let me explain …

As a full-time missionary, Scott will be traveling across the country to share his story and his vision for HGIM missions. He is already accepting invitations and beginning to schedule meetings, presentations, revivals, etc. If you’d like more information,  contact Scott directly and ask him about scheduling a visit to share with your congregation or organization; he would love to hear from you.

Another Exciting Adventure

Following his assignment in Haiti, Scott will be leading an evangelistic team on HGIM’s first annual World Outreach Mission to the UK in July/August 2012. His team will be sharing the Gospel with travelers from all over the world who will be visiting the UK at this time. We are taking applications to join the team for this unique and exciting outreach. (Applications can be downloaded here.)

The team will literally have the ability to “reach the nations” with the Gospel, using a variety of evangelistic methods including sidewalk witnessing, drama, skits, music and one-on-one engagement. Scott will be training the team for this outreach, so those with a heart for evangelism and a burden for the lost will be eligible to join the team. Where and How God Leads

The weeks and months after the World Outreach will be filled with preparation for the various opportunities Scott will have to serve, both domestically and internationally. Most of all, however, Scott will be focused on raising a broad base of committed partners to provide the financial foundation needed for his international evangelistic ministry as an instrumental part of HGIM’s global mission.

Scott Quote
Let me share something with you … I’ve not even said anything to Scott. As we’ve been discussing his future plans and his fundraising needs, something he said exposed his heart. Reading this quote from a recent email exchange, it is clear to see that this is not all about Scott promoting himself or having illusions of grandeur, or even raising large sums of money to live frivolously or foolishly. Scott is a hard worker, dedicated to following the Lord’s commission to us all.  Aside from covering his expenses for travel, living, etc., he should have enough to immediately invest in the ministry wherever God calls him.

We have created a special webpage for Scott to use for his funding purposes. One hundred percent of anything given through this special page will go directly into Scott’s missionary account. Whether you consider a monthly donation or a one-time gift, you will be sowing seed in fertile soil. (Click Here)

Well, friends … I’m excited to see how God is going to use this young man.  As the days ahead of us unfold, I’m confident doors will continue to open for him to make an eternal impact in the lives of men, women and children of all ages from many nations.
Please consider inviting him to speak at your church or address your organization.  You will be blessed beyond measure and your encouragement will have a profound impact on his ministry.  For ministry credentials and/or recommendations, please contact me directly.
Also, I invite you to pray with us as HGIM branches out into this new territory.  We are full of anticipation as we watch how God uses Scott to bring Light into the darkness of this world — the Light of Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God!
Because He lives,
