There was an amazing display of commitment to a foundational Biblical value yesterday—one most never thought would even become an issue. Yet, throughout the United States, people who were not ashamed to publicly take a stand by showing their support for and agreement with a statement made by a food-chain’s CEO, affirming his view that the Biblical view of marriage should be upheld. In support of his bold statement, those in agreement patronized his food-chain nationwide, and not just a few. Throughout the day, lines were long in nearly every restaurant with people proclaiming agreement with this fundamental Biblical issue.
This is only one small (albeit, it was huge) example of how we can take a stand unashamedly. Now is NOT the time to be silent. Now IS the time to join our testimony with Paul’s in saying, “I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.” What better way to bless God than to openly proclaim His Truth throughout the earth?
“I proclaim righteousness in the great assembly; I do not seal my lips, as you know, O LORD. I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and salvation. I do not conceal your love and your truth from the great assembly.” (Ps 40:9-10 NIV)
Have you noticed that Christians are becoming more outspoken? Many are indeed feeling the “call” to proclaim to the nations that Jesus Christ is Lord.
The division between the “wheat” and the “tares” is becoming more and more defined with each passing day. Those who would fool around with the Lord and their pretense as Christians are being found out. Those who are living fruitful Christian lives are also being found out. The only difference is those who are truly living for Christ are taking a stand, refusing to hide their conviction, speaking out of God’s faithfulness and great salvation, making the truth of the Gospel known.
What is the proclamation from your lips? Are you taking a stand? Or, are you sitting back and allowing the unrighteous voices in the word set the standard?
Bless the Lord today by standing boldly for righteousness. Make the voice of His righteous truth to be heard by all. Don’t wait for another special day to show your support of Biblical values … make it your life’s theme to stand for Truth based on the Word of God in this generation. What a legacy you will leave for the generations to come!
Father, my desire is for You to be blessed through me and by me as I make Your truth to be known . . . by all! Give me the courage along with the opportunity to take a stand for righteousness that You might be glorified, Lord, today and every day! Amen!
