Todays Devotion: Eternal Word of God … “God loves us so much that He made sure we have an eternal written record of His Words. The flowers will dry up, the grass will wither, but His Word is established in Heaven, and it will NEVER fade away … it will NEVER pass away.”

Eternal Word of GodEverything around us is temporary; nothing is permanent. It is hard for us to comprehend the value of the eternal Word of God. His Word never changes. God, Himself, never changes.

“The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.” (Isaiah 40:8)

The Word of God contains God’s plan for mankind, a plan that was instituted before the foundations of the world … a plan that has not changed nor will ever change. It is constant and eternal. God, in His omniscience and perfect wisdom, knew the path that would lead us to Him; He planned that path before we were ever conceived.

The next time you read the eternal Word of the Living God, remember that His purposes and plans for all of us are contained in it, along with details of His attributes which can be summed up in one word: “Love”.

God loves us so much that He made sure we have an eternal written record of His Words. The flowers will dry up, the grass will wither, but His Word is established in Heaven, and it will NEVER fade away … it will NEVER pass away.

Thank You, Lord, for Your Eternal Word

Father, thank you for your eternal Word, the written record of Your plan for all of mankind—your plan for me. Father, help me to commit to reading more, developing my relationship with you, and seeking You in Your Word. I love You, Lord … Amen.

“Forever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.” (Psalm 119:89)
