Todays Devotion: Even In the Midst of the Storm … “If you’re broken-hearted today, if you’ve been wounded by life’s circumstances, take time to praise Him. Press into Him and praise Him with all your might. Even if you don’t feel like it, praise Him!”

Even In the Midst of the Storm“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”  (Psalm 147:3)

Praise the Lord! All through the Bible we are encouraged to praise the Lord and it is not without reason that we are called to this duty time and time again. Praise serves a two-fold purpose: When it is directed toward and centered in Him, it pleases Him beyond measure. Secondly, praise is in our best interest because it blesses us.

God’s love for His people is amazing; He takes care of us and makes provision for every need. It is His pleasure to comfort the brokenhearted, to bind up the wounded, to set free the captive. He is motivated by merciful and limitless love, not by anything we could ever do on our own to earn it.

If you’re brokenhearted today, if you’ve been wounded by life’s circumstances, take time to praise Him. Press into Him and praise Him with all your might.  Even if you don’t feel like it, praise Him!

Turn your attention to Him, focus on His love and mercy, and begin to praise Him in the midst of your circumstances.  You’ll soon find your situation fading into the background and your faith being energized as He becomes the center of your attention.  Don’t back down.  Press in and praise Him because of Who He is.

Your circumstances may be burdensome.  You may be in the worst situation you’ve ever found yourself in.  Yet, regardless of what we’re going through, He’s worthy of all your praise!

Praise the Lord!

Father, thank you for your undeserved merciful love. When I am brokenhearted, when life deals me a deadly blow and I walk away wounded, it is good to know that You are there ready and eager to heal my broken heart and to bind up my wounds as I concentrate on You more than on my circumstances. Father, I love You and praise You, just for Who You are and all You’ve done for me. Amen.

Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!”  (Psalm 107:8)
