Dear friends,
This has been an incredible year as we have watched God do amazing things in East Africa. With most of our efforts focused on Uganda at this time, there have been numerous opportunities to spread the Gospel while ministering to the spiritual and physical needs of those experiencing great need.
When asked what was the most important thing this ministry accomplished in 2011, my mind began to spin – it is hard to pinpoint one thing among the many ways God allowed us to minister to His people. However, I think I would say the most exciting event was sending 500 Bibles to the Karamoja tribe.
That may seem odd, especially if you have been keeping up with us via our new website (http://heartofgodeastafrica.org) or Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Heart-of-God-East-Africa/175353085810601) or Twitter (http://twitter.com/heartgodeafrica). The 2011 Outreach to Uganda was extremely successful with men and women coming to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, baptisms, prison ministry, men’s ministry, women’s ministry, and more. Praise God!!!!
The reason this Bible project is so exciting is that now local pastors are using God’s Word translated into their own language as they share the Good News in areas where they have not heard. Because they now have Bibles they can read, they are planting churches and making disciples among the people. As if that isn’t enough, those same pastors are going to point us to areas of Northern Africa in 2012 where we can be a part of helping them minister in the 10/40 window.
Humanitarian efforts by Heart of God East Africa have and will continue as we passionately spread God’s Word to all the nations in response to our Lord’s Great Commission to ALL those who believe. It is a privilege to accept this mandate as our mission, not only in 2011 but as we make plans for 2012 as the Spirit of God leads us.
